Simple Steps To Live In The Present Moment

Sometimes it can be difficult to focus on the present moment, especially if we are looking back into the past or the future. In this post, we will discuss steps you can take to focus your energy where you are right now in life, and how you can enjoy the ride.

Maybe you’re wishing for the future to become your present moment because you’re ready for change. or maybe there is something in the past you wish you could go back to and tell your younger self. There is nothing more unhealthy for your mental health then dwelling in situations that are out of your control.

Focusing on the present allows you to live in the present moment, to reflect on what you have right now, what you’re grateful for and how you are alive, right now, in this moment.

Here are some simple ways you can bring yourself back to present, if you ever find yourself slipping away.

Focus on your breath

Breathing is one of the most amazing things we as human beings can do. It means we are alive and we are present, right now. We are here. if you ever find yourself slipping into the past or future, focus on your inhalation and your exhalation, your breathing signifies life and how in this moment, you are alive.

Focus on one thing at a time

Don’t multitask when you are working. Focus on one thing until it’s done and can be checked off your list. When you focus on multiple things at once, it can be difficult to live in the present moment. Take a step back, take a deep breath and close you eyes. Focus on coming back to present and completing your work, one task at a time.

Be grateful for where you are now

There may be a shiny new object that catches your attention or how 10 years down the line, you’ll have this or that, but right now is the place to be. Be grateful for where you are right now and what you have, You’ve come this far. Appreciate what you’ve accomplished. If there are changes you want to make in your life to better yourself, acknowledge that, but don’t dwell on it to the point where you aren’t happy.

Take the time to make small steps to achieve your goals in life, so they become your living reality.
