my STORY

Not even the sky is the limit.

Writing has always been my way of making sense of the world and sometimes, of escaping it. I grew up in Detroit, a city that taught me grit, rhythm, and resilience. Those early experiences shaped my fascination with human behavior; with what drives people to the edge, and what brings them back.

As a writer, I’m drawn to the spaces where identity, class, race, and desire collide. I love exploring what it means to live inside privilege yet feel unworthy, to seek love while sabotaging it, to crave freedom but cling to control. My stories ask the quiet questions that linger long after the page is turned: What makes someone cheat? Why do we hurt the people we love most? Can redemption and ruin coexist in the same heart?

For me, writing isn’t just storytelling, it’s psychological excavation. Each character I create is a mirror, reflecting the parts of ourselves we try hardest to hide. Through fiction and creative nonfiction alike, I write to uncover the motives that make us human, and to create worlds that feel as fragile, flawed, and breathtaking as our own.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I BELIEVE IN CREATING WORLDS FROM FRAGMENTS OF OUR OWN, WHERE BEAUTY AND CHAOS COEXIST.

Chloe Panta is an American author and novelist. She is the winner of the Curtis Brown Creative Writing Competition and her short story, The Sacrifice, has been published in Middleground Magazine.

Her work has been featured in numerous outlets including ABC, CBS, Fox News, The Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, The Chronicle, Publisher’s Weekly and many other news outlets. She believes in magic. In dreams coming true and that she is responsible for creating the life she loves. Not outside circumstances or other people.

Chloe writes about the human condition. The quiet, complicated spaces where love, loss, identity, and ambition intersect. Her stories often explore the nuances of race, class, and privilege, and the invisible lines between desire and destruction.

Born and raised in Detroit, Chloe grew up surrounded by resilience. Those early years shaped her fascination with how people survive, adapt, and sometimes fall apart; and how, in the breaking, we find who we really are. Writing became her way of asking questions the world didn’t always have answers for.

For Chloe, storytelling is both a craft and a calling. She believes that through fiction and creative nonfiction, we uncover not only who we are, but who we’re capable of becoming.

THE LANGUAGE WE LIVE IN

I believe language shapes the rooms we live in. The words we choose—on the page, in our mouths, inside our heads—can bruise, mend, or make a door where there wasn’t one. I try to use mine with precision and care, a little wit, and a lot of heart.

We all carry weather inside us: old stories, old limits. Writing is how I walk through the storm and come back with something true. If my work does anything, I hope it helps readers see their own lives with more light and more grit.
